Types of Triangles

The Triangle may be the basic structural unit of the impressions of Consciousness, but there are a variety of triangles, each forming impressions of a different quality. For example, the texture of the impression structured by equilateral triangles is different from that of the impression built by obtuse triangles or from that of the impression structured by scalene triangles. Where do the differences lie – except those geometrically described?

The acute -scalene triangle does not obey any determinism and is defined – seemingly at least – by Randomness. It represents the primal pure Consciousness which is the other side of Chaos.

The obtuse triangle expresses an exceedance. It is created by the Intelligence that tries to measure its power and tests it by blunting the angle of the triangular structural unit. Intelligence tries to cover as much distance as possible, sacrificing however, the content. It favours Imagination but offers the most incomplete experience.

The right triangle is the first attempt to rationalize the impression with two sides of the triangle that are not coincidentally perpendicular to each other. It is the triangle that offers balance between Rationality and Imagination, it is the most balanced triangle.

The equilateral triangle with three equal sides and angles represents a rationalist disposition that seeks balance. It represents the -slightly-violent intervention of the Spirit in the World and the Order it imposes. It is clear that the use of the equilateral triangle does not favour the Imagination. The equilateral triangle appears when Intelligence comes on stage to play an active role in forming the impression. It offers the most complete experience and helps approach the conception of “space” most sufficiently..

The isosceles triangle represents the binary / dilemmatic nature of Consciousness. This too, has a rationalistic predisposition, but it has developed in comparison to its equilateral sibling and now serves a quasi-system. We could say that the isosceles triangle produces targeted and system-engaged impressions.
Personally, I prefer the acute-scalene triangle as a structural unit of my compositions.
