The most crucial point in the emergence of consciousness is the fact of mirroring: while “being” is in an endless calmness and immobility, at some point, something happens that forces it to “see” itself and recognize itself. It is an eternal moment that happens at the same time as calmness and stillness, at the same time as the emergence of its consciousness, its intelligence, memory, space and time etc. everything happens at the same time… So suddenly a molecule of ether creates a void in “being” but this infinitesimal molecule simultaneously turns into a mirror and a refracting medium that offers “being” the possibility to “see” itself. The moment of realization is tragic because realization also means perception of infinite loneliness. This moment is accompanied by an unbelievably loud universal cry as if a cosmic metal sheet is being torn from end to end. A Gothic Hephaestus hammering his universal anvil. Where did this molecule, this tiny ether bubble come from? It has always been there as was the cosmic cry and the torn metal sheet. In reality, this tiny bubble is so small that it doesn’t actually exist. Non-existence is the mirror and the cause of consciousness.
